Obituary

Bonita “Bonnie” Lyn Schrimpf, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, October 9, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, surrounded by her loving family.

Bonnie was born on December 14, 1944, in Two Rivers to the late Raymond and Veronica (Stone) Schrimpf. Throughout her life, Bonnie was a woman of remarkable strength, a loving heart, and a deep and abiding faith in God. Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life, bringing her comfort, strength, and guidance through both joyful and difficult times. She lived her faith not only through her devotion to God, but also through the kindness, love, and care she shared with those around her.

Bonnie spent many years working as a hairdresser in her own salon, where she had the opportunity to build friendships and touch the lives of so many people. She was an active and devoted member of the Red Hat Society for many years, as well as the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman. She also generously gave her time assisting with the ladies’ honor guard.

One of Bonnie’s special joys in life was her love of hot air balloons. She was an avid collector, and each balloon was a little treasure that reflected something she truly loved. Her collection was a unique and meaningful part of who she was, bringing her happiness and giving those who knew her another special way to remember her. Just as hot air balloons rise gently into the sky, Bonnie’s memory will continue to lift the hearts of those who loved her.

Another very special part of Bonnie’s life was her beloved dog, Bella. Bella was so much more than a pet; she was a cherished companion who brought Bonnie comfort, happiness, and unconditional love.

Bonnie is survived by her siblings, John (Colleen) Gordon and Cathy Wilde, all of Two Rivers; sisters-in-law, Wendy Schrimpf of Two Rivers and Jill Schrimpf of Manitowoc; and her dear friends, Allison Fuerst and Susie Satterthwaite. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive and will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Veronica Schrimpf; brothers, David Schrimpf and Ricky Schrimpf; brother-in-law, Bruce Wilde; sister, Patricia Kehoe; special aunt, Julia Pillasch; great-nephew, Austin Schrimpf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers, with Father Louis Golamari officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

A heartfelt and special thank-you to nieces Andrea (Steve Robley) and April (Dave Schubring), nephew Timothy Schrimpf, great-niece Jordyn Cuestas, brother John Gordon. Beloved Allison Fuerst, Mike Fuerst, Jenny Radaj, Jim Fuerst and family for the loving care, kindness, and devotion they gave Bonnie over the years. Your love and support meant more than words can express.

The family also wishes to express sincere gratitude to the nurses on the third floor and Dr. Cupino at Aurora Medical Center, as well as Sara from Aurora Hospice, for the compassion, kindness, and gentle care they provided Bonnie during her final days.

Though Bonnie’s earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared, the faith she lived by, and the memories she leaves behind will remain forever. May she rest peacefully in God’s loving embrace, reunited with those who went before her, and may her family find comfort in knowing that her beautiful spirit will never be forgotten.
