Bonnie M. Bonino, age 81, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 15, 2026, at New Day Assisted Living, in Manitowoc.
Bonnie was born in Wisconsin Rapids on September 22, 1945, to the late Harold and Frances (Schenk) Andraska. She attended Catholic schools in Wisconsin Rapids, graduating from Assumption High School. Following graduation, she continued her education at St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Madison, earning her Registered Nurse license. She worked at various hospitals throughout her nursing career, including UCLA Medical Center, Bellin Hospital and Holy Family Hospital. In addition to her work as a nurse, Bonnie was also a licensed beautician and a Jafra cosmetics representative.
In her younger years, Bonnie enjoyed playing the piano and flute, baton twirling, and ballet. As time went on, she found joy in knitting, basket weaving, gardening fresh vegetables, going to yearly rummage sales, and attending Jazzercise classes. She also had a special love for her small dogs, especially her beloved teacup Poodles and Yorkies, Peanut, Misty, and Sammy.
On February 13, 1982, Bonnie was united in marriage to Jerry Bonino in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with 43 years of marriage. The couple especially enjoyed spending the winter months in St. Augustine, Florida. Bonnie was a loving and devoted caretaker to Jerry for 15 years after a stroke. Jerry preceded her in death on July 16, 2025.
Bonnie is survived by her three stepdaughters, Sandy Lewis, Vicki Bonino, and Terri (Bob) Boerger; her siblings, David (Hazel) Andraska, Teresa (Michael) Casey; grandchildren, Carter Lewis (Caroline), Jenna Lewis (Dan), Nick Strzyzewski, Noah Strzyzewski; nieces and nephews, Mark Andraska, Karena Tran, Kimberly Andraska, Krista (Davis) Pittman, Trisha Casey (Jason), and Ryan Casey. Many great nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives, also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, parents, Harold and Frances Andraska, and a brother, Joseph Andraska.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Louis Golamari, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
