David Dale Zunker, 66, of Two Rivers passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born on December 28, 1959 to parents Wayne E. and Patricia A. (Naeser) Zunker. David attended St. John’s Lutheran Elementary School, L.B. Clarke Middle School, and Two Rivers High School.

As a young man, David saw and experienced much of the United States. He spent several childhood years living in Tampa, Florida, and later went to join his brother Brian living in Colorado for a stint. He also worked as a long-haul truck driver which took him to every state in the contiguous U.S. – except for Oregon. Two Rivers always remained home, however, and he always found his way back.

In his earlier years David married his first wife and had two children, Joshua and Stacy. It was while working for Imperial Eastman when David met and fell in love with Wendy Sue Luchsinger. The pair were married at the Manitowoc County Courthouse on September 16th, 1996. Together they raised their daughter Aneesha and were blessed with 29 years of marriage.

David will be remembered for his sharp wit and his ability to make anything into a joke. Though he was naturally social, he did not need to be the center of attention or control the room. Aneesha recalls him as a fiercely protective father as well. David enjoyed sports – watching the Packers, mastering golf (virtually, not on the course), and was a dual-threat lefty pitcher and power hitter as a youngster. He was a lifelong fan of Pink Floyd, and was a dedicated Trekkie who enjoyed the classic Star Trek show and movies, and continued collecting memorabilia throughout his life. He enjoyed watching various shows on the History Channel; he loved learning about history, albeit not in a school setting.

David is survived by his beloved wife: Wendy Zunker of Two Rivers; his children: Aneesha Zunker of De Pere, WI, Joshua (Andrea) Fox of Downingtown, PA, and Stacy (Philip) Fox of Reading, PA; his five grandchildren: Ethan, Anya, Natalya, Brycen, and Kaida of Pennsylvania; his siblings Steven Zunker of Marietta, GA, Brian (Debra) Zunker of Appleton, WI, and Vickie (Christopher) Donner of Neenah, WI.

David was preceded in death by both of his parents, Wayne and Patricia Zunker, his paternal grandparents Victor and Margaret Zunker, and his maternal grandparents William and Hilda Naeser.
