Delores M. Johnson, age 95, longtime resident of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 13, 2025 at the Wisteria Haus in Two Rivers.
Delores was born in Kewaunee on June 22, 1930 to Reinhart and Dorothy (Kresheck) Groth, and was a graduate of Kewaunee High School. On October 11, 1952 she married Jerome C. Johnson at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee. Jerome preceded her in death November 18, 2019.
Delores will be remembered as the babysitter for many children of various families in Two Rivers over the years. She and Jerome enjoyed tending their beautiful garden every year; and she enjoyed reading and puzzles. She loved to travel with her son and other family members and always remained in steady contact with her two distant sisters.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Johnson of Mishicot; one daughter & son-in-law, June (Bill) Welk of Rapid City, S.D.; four grandchildren: Kelly Welk (special friend, Rob Franz), Kristin Welk, Jason Welk, Lisa Zais Castro, and her husband, Emilio; along with seven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters: Marcella Pabellek and Nancy Shermer; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome; and her in-laws: Charles and Helen Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2025 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3607 45th St. Two Rivers. Pastor John Berg will preside at the service, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Lutheran Church Monday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
