Donald J. Ahrndt, age 90 of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
Don was born in Two Rivers on June 15, 1935 to George and Beatrice (Cherney) Ahrndt. He graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1953, then attended Ripon College on a basketball scholarship. Don was a multi-sport athlete throughout his high school and college years.
In 1957, he completed military training at Fort Bliss, Texas, and after becoming a sergeant received both the Marksman and Sharpshooter Badges during his service years. He also received a certificate of training for Basic Seamanship Course at Fort Eustis, VA in 1960 and as a Reserve of the Army in 1961. Don attended the Acme School of Engineering where he graduated in 1960 with a degree in Die Design Engineering, and later completed extensive training for a double course in Engineering by 1963. He spent the rest of his career in the tool & die industry until his retirement. Don was an avid outdoorsman with a love for fishing, hunting, and hiking. He raised four daughters and was united in marriage to Carol Richmond in 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ahrndt; his four daughters: Gretchen (Tom) Harder, Amy (Brian) Kohl, Elizabeth (Jed) Kirchenwitz, and Angela (John) Brish; eight grandchildren: Brent (Lori) Harder, Meghan Harder, Adam Kohl, Rebecca (Travis) Kohl, James Kirchenwitz, Grace Kirchenwitz, Kale Brish, Ronan Brish; and one great-grandchild, Murphie. He is further survived by his sister, Judith Bull; one sister-in-law, Betty Messman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beatrice Ahrndt; his brother, James Ahrndt; his first wife, Barbara (Ligman) Ahrndt; and two brothers-in-law, Duane Bull and Richard Messman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2026 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Monday morning, March 30th, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.

They would also like to thank the caregivers of St. Mary's Home for their supportive care; and a special thank you to Fr. Dave Pleier for blessing Don with last rites prior to his passing.
