Gregory P. “Greg” Shavlik, age 69, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, November 23, 2025, at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc.
Greg was born on September 4, 1956, to Donald and Margaret (Wondrash) Shavlik in Two Rivers.
On September 3, 2003, Greg was united in marriage to the love of his life, Laurie Schleis on Mackinac Island. The couple was blessed with 22 wonderful years of marriage.
He was employed at Egger’s Industries for 48 years, working as a Senior Order Writer.
In Greg’s free time, he loved woodworking, doing yard work, and gardening. He also enjoyed watching woodworking and cooking shows on T.V. Greg and Laurie always looked forward to their yearly adventure to Mackinac Island and making memories there together. Greg also enjoyed spending time with his beloved dogs.
Greg was such a kind and caring man. If anyone ever needed help, he was always the first in line to lend a helping hand. He will always be remembered for his acts of kindness and selflessness.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; his brothers, Gary (Lori) Shavlik, Guy (Verna) Shavlik; mother and father-in-law, Edward and Joyce Schleis; brothers-in-law, David (Kim) Schleis, Brian (Susie) Schleis; nephew and nieces, Travis (Shannon) Shavlik, Nicole (Mike) DeRoehn, Isabelle Shavlik, Samantha (Nick) Martinco, Jessica Hacker; great nieces and nephews, Brynlee Vann, Madalynn DeRoehn, Audrey DeRoehn, Myles Shavlik, and Nash Martinco.
Greg is further survived by his sweet faithful companion, Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Shavlik; his grandparents; and his aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Father Dave Pleier.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
The Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels of Two Rivers is assisting the Shavlik with arrangements.
