Lucille Frances Redo passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born in Benicia, California, in 1923 to Mitchell and Josephine Carmo, Lucille was proud of her Portuguese roots and her late husband’s twenty-seven years of service at the CIA. A lifelong learner, she inspired her children to be intellectually curious, to show kindness to others, and to live with honor and integrity. Her home in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, was filled with books about artists, actors, politics, and history, along with furniture and artifacts she collected while living in Germany, Egypt, Cyprus, the Philippines, and Iran. In addition to raising six children, her fulfilling life included classified government service in post-war Germany, Sunday horseback rides at the pyramids, and volunteering with the Red Cross in the Philippines and Iran.
Lucille is survived by five children: James W. Redo III, Christopher & Dawn Redo, Patrick & Stacy Redo, Jeffrey & Carrie Redo, and Jeff & Janice (Redo) Bricker; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; one daughter, Mary Kathryn Scott; and an infant daughter.
A memorial service led by Rev. Dawn Sundstrom will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. The family will greet friends and relatives at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels Thursday evening from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m.
