Mary L. Reis, age 82, formerly of Two Rivers, currently town of Maribel resident, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Mary was born in Manitowoc on September 16, 1943, to Raymond and Antoinette (Meyer) Dulik. She was a 1961 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. On September 12, 1964, she married George V. Reis at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc.

During her career, she worked with her husband George; Mary as a tax professional and George as a registered investment advisor. Beyond her professional success, she was deeply committed to enriching her community. Through her leadership with the Helen and Lester Reis Endowment Fund, Mary and a fellow board member collected well over 1,000 coats throughout the years for local children in need. Mary believed in the power of small, quiet acts of kindness, extending her warmth equally to loved ones and strangers alike.

Away from work, Mary and George enjoyed sports together including Marquette basketball, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Green Bay Packers. They also loved traveling on trips to St. Germain, Omaha, and New York, amongst other places, and were proud members of the Manitowoc Yacht Club. In her quieter moments, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures, often spent immersed in a good book or cultivating her garden.

Above all, Mary’s heart belonged to her family. Her love and devotion to her daughter Alison and son David were the priorities of her life. She was a constant presence for her granddaughter Abi, and her grandson-in-law Joey. Most recently she delighted in welcoming her great-grandson, James.

Mary is survived by her husband George V. Reis; her son David Reis (Laura Tack) of Salida, Colorado; her granddaughter Abigail (Joseph) Mardirosian of Downers Grove, Illinois; and her great-grandson James.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Alison (Reis) Gallagher; her parents Raymond and Antoinette Dulik; and her father-and mother-in-law Lester and Helen Reis.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s honor to the Helen and Lester Reis Endowment Fund to support charitable causes in the community or by donating books to the local library to celebrate her lifelong love of reading.

Private family services were held for Mary at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels and burial has taken place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
