Robert G. “Bob” Froelich, age 88, passed away on May 18, 2026, surrounded by his family at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Bob was born on April 23, 1938, to Albert and Regina (Kaster) Froelich in Green Bay, WI.
On July 1, 1967, Bob was united in marriage to Lynne Malfroid at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with 58 years of marriage and 3 children.
Bob was employed at Hamiltons for many years working as a carpenter.
Bob was a fisherman at heart; he thoroughly enjoyed his time spent out on the water catching fish. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and was known to many as a ‘DIY superman’. He was always working and tinkering with something. Bob took immense pride in his lawn; he loved doing yardwork and mowing his lawn. Overall, his greatest joy in life was his family. He never took for granted his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although at times it was hard to get back up, you could always find him down on the floor playing with the kids and being a kid alongside them.
Bob was also a proud member of the Carpenters local 1533 union.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynne; three children, John Compton (Cindy Vandenhouten), Kay (Shane) Frish, James (Carrie) Froelich; grandchildren, Aaron Compton (special friend, Katrina Stewart), Jason Berg, Laurin (Scott) Andrews, Audrey (Jesse) Naab, Jack and Eleanor Froelich; great-grandchildren, Charles John Robert Compton, Elijah and Ethan Andrews, Oliver, Wyatt and Lucy Naab; his siblings, Theresa Barta, Kenneth (Jan) Froelich, James Froelich, Gladys Schommer, Ann Froelich, Mary (Richard) Augustian, Charles (Shirley) Froelich, Michael (Chris) Froelich. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Regina Froelich; his mother and father-in-law, Eli and Angeline Malfroid; a goddaughter, Patti Stangel; his siblings, Francis Froelich (first wife, Barbara; second wife, Joan), Margaret (Daniel) Stangel, Catherine (Fred) Mastalir; a sister-in-law, Marlene Froelich; and two brothers-in-law, David Barta and Charles Schommer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers at 4:00 p.m. The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 4:00 p.m. Deacon Tom Tomaszewski will preside at the service with military honors to immediately follow accorded by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
