Thomas W. "Tom" Johnson, age 80 of Two Rivers, passed away on Sunday afternoon, July 13, 2025 at The Bay at North Ridge & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc with his family by his side.
Tom was born March 27, 1945 in Garden City, Michigan to Toivo and Frances (Kostelnik) Johnson. He grew up in Oma Township and was a 1963 graduate of JE Murphy High School in Hurley, Wisconsin. On May 5, 1990, he married Judith Van Zon at First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Tom worked as a draftsman at Hamilton Mfg. from 1967 to 1968, then went on to work for the Weyerhaeuser Company in Manitowoc for 43 years, retiring as a millwright in 2011. Tom served multiple terms as president & vice-president of the Local AFL-CIO. He enjoyed working in his garage making cabinetry, repairing cars and trucks, and hanging out with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Judith A. Johnson; one son, Michael (Lori) Johnson of Kenosha, WI; one daughter, Chanin Kelly of Monroe, MI; one step-son, Brian Van Zon of Manitowoc; and a step-daughter, Renee Van Zon of Two Rivers; his grandchildren: Cassandra (Karl) Rose, Danielle (Pete) Cherny, Travis (Kamry) Kelly, Cody (Jephondra) Kelly, Brandon (Kendra) Zinn, Marisa Zinn; along with 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further survived by his siblings: Linda (Dennis) Buzzar, Mary (Gene) Vandevoorde, Kathy Johnson, Laura Johnson, and Nancy (Don) Moser. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Mark Johnson.
Private family services were held for Tom on Thursday, July 17th at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc. Chaplain Clive Cabey presided at the service, with entombment in Knollwood Mausoleum.
